The Core Program consists of Training Level through Intermediaire 2 and recognizes the categories Open, Amateur, and Junior. EC First through Fourth Level Freestyles are also included in the Core Program.
All competitions must offer Open classes. Separate Junior and/or Amateur classes may be offered at any level at the discretion of the individual competition. Year End Awards are calculated separately for Open, Amateur and Junior, even if separate classes are not held. It is the responsibility of the competitor to advise the Silver Dressage Coordinator of eligibility for Amateur status.

Equine Canada rules will apply; competitors are responsible for knowledge of the rules. The competition committees reserve the right to govern all conditions of the competitions.
Every class offered herein is covered by the rules and specifications of the current Rule Book of Equine Canada and will be held and judged in accordance with said rule book.
Equine Canada championship points are not earned at Silver competitions, but the future showing status of entries, i.e. eligibility, is affected.
Competition numbers must be worn at all times in the warm-up areas as well as in the competition ring.
Owners and riders of horses competing on the Silver Circuit must be OEF members. Contact the OEF (9120 Leslie Street, Suite 203, Richmond Hill ON L4B 3J9, Phone 877-441-7112; website www.horse.on.ca ) for application forms. EC membership is automatic with the OEF membership, but owners and riders must also obtain an EC competitive license at a minimum of the associate level to compete on the Silver Circuit.
Horses competing in Silver competitions must have an Equine Canada passport current annual horse license sticker. A passport must be handed in to the competition secretary before a horse will be allowed to compete. Contact Equine Canada at www.equinecanada.ca for further information and application forms.
Current negative Coggins tests are recommended (though not mandatory) for Silver competitions. It is at the discretion of the individual competitions whether they require proof of a current negative Coggins test for horses coming onto the property of a facility whereat a Silver competition will be held. [FYI, both Divisions of the Silver Dressage Championships will require proof of a current negative Coggins test for each horse entered.].
Must be received by the closing dates, with all required information, signatures, and fees. Refunds are at the discretion of the individual competition committees. Late and Hors Concours entries may be accepted if classes are not full, subject to an additional fee. Post entries are not accepted.
A horse/rider combination may compete at two consecutive levels and in the corresponding freestyle class. No horse may compete in more than four technical tests.
The competition season runs from January 1st to Decmeber 31st of the current year.
Ribbons will be awarded to 6th place in all classes.
A $7.00 drug-testing fee is assessed on each entry. Any horse entered in any class at a competition subject to the requirement to pay drug testing fees may, while on the competition grounds and on the recommendation of the chair of the provincial Equine Medications Control Committee or appointee, be selected for equine medication control testing.
A DC levy fee of $7.00 per competitor is levied at all competitions.
The Open category is open to all riders regardless of age and/or amateur/professional status.
The Junior category is open to riders until the end of the calendar year in which they turn 18.
The Amateur category is open to riders who are no longer Juniors and who do not accept remuneration for training a horse and/or coaching any person to ride a horse, including clinics and seminars in the dressage discipline; who do not hold an EC English Coaching Certification at Level 2 (dressage option) or Levels 3-5 Dressage; who are not EC B, M, S or FEI dressage judges; who are not current or former CET short/long listed riders or have represented Canada internationally.
Categories will be tracked separately for year end awards. It is the responsibility of competition organizers to report Junior competitors.
Riders who enter Amateur classes will be tracked as Amateurs. Riders who qualify as Amateurs, but who do not have such classes available to them, are responsible for reporting their eligibility to the Silver Coordinator
All classes, including all freestyles, will use the 60m ring only. EXCEPTIONS: Walk/Trot tests, Training Level tests 1-4 plus First Level, Test 1 may be in the 20 x 40 ring.
To enter a freestyle at a Silver competition, a minimum of 55% is required. [see E7.9.4, Dressage Rule Book]
The freestyle tests used at Silver competitions are EC First through FEI Int 1 Freestyles. All these tests are included in the Cadora INC Omnibus.
Time allowed for all freestyles is 5 minutes.
